Let her sleep or bring her in?
Big helpers
Never noticed the Indian archer on top of the KS Capitol building before.
Ben Gems
Ben has been getting back into a bad habit of waking up quite a bit every night. Last night before we put him to bed, I talked to him and told him how he was a big boy and he needed to stay asleep and if he needed to wake up to use the bathroom, he could do it himself and didn’t need to wake me up.
So at 5:55 AM this morning, Ben comes running downstairs, climbs up on the toilet in the bathroom right outside our bedroom and declares “Daddy! Daddy! I’m going potty by myself! I’m not waking you up!” He finishes up, then goes back upstairs and goes back to bed.
Once everybody was awake this morning, we were all hanging out in our bed like we often do. Adalyn was gnawing on her thumb and I asked if she was getting her molars. Ben asked what molars were and I told him that molars are teeth in the back of his mouth and that their are different type of teeth likeĀ incisorsĀ and eye-teeth.
His response? “Don’t be weird Daddy”
I don’t think that’s the last time I’m going to hear that.

Reassuring Ben
While I was unsuccessfully trying to convince Ben that I was going to move his bed outside and he’d have to sleep with the owls, he looked at me, rubbed my check and said “aww, it’s okay. It will just take a little time”. Cracked me up!
