Perfect pre-Spring day
It’s a beautiful day to be outside with the kids while streaming Kansas basketball on the laptop. Hard to believe this was just a couple weeks ago.
Pirate smile – Jeff Withey sized snowman edition
The result of the epic 10″ snow storm was a wonderful playground of fresh snow to play in. After the driveway, sidewalk, deck and mailman path were shoveled (which Ben actually really helped with), it was playtime. We built a 7 foot tall snowman – complete with top hat, oxygen mask and tie – and snow steps using a recycling bin.
Here is the snowman – note the orange juice lid eyes, celery nose and Chick-fil-a nugget container mouth. Ben said it looked like a fireman’s mask.

The end result with the steps

Climbing the steps:

Almost there…

And of course, we ended with a pirate smile.

They are saying another 10 inches of snow are coming tomorrow, so there might be more snowman in our future!!
Snow day 2013

We got our first real snow today in several years. Right around 10″ with a little bit still more on the way. I’ve heard the roads are a mess. We stayed put all day. Adalyn celebrated by jumping off the couch.
Cousins
We were lucky enough to have family stop by on their way through Kansas City. Eli and Ben are 2nd cousins, or 1st cousins once removed, or something like that. Either way, they had a blast running around and laughing throughout the house.

Pirate smile – fixing the roof edition
The latest in the series. Fixing his roof while enjoying the crazy nice weather we have had this January in Kansas City.
